Beethoven: The Symphonies
2027 is the year of Beethoven! Even though Beethoven is played every year in the world of classical music, this special anniversary year deserves to be celebrated with a special series of concerts. Chief conductor Jakub Hrůša and his Bamberg Symphony orchestra are rising to the occasion with a symphonic marathon during which they will play all nine Beethoven symphonies. Originally from the Czech Republic, Hrůša is embarking on a typically well-designed tour with his prestigious ensemble from Northern Bavaria to play two concerts in the Tonhalle and two in the Kölner Philharmonie. Their concerts are always sure to be a highly enjoyable experience, and this first concert provides valuable insights into how the young composer from Bonn developed musically from his initial symphonic work, which already caught the attention of the music scene at the time, to his Eroica Symphony, which was a major milestone. As Jakub Hrůša himself says, it promises to be a truly breathtaking event.
